Financial Manager

Job Description:

The primary functions of the Financial Manager is to ensure financial health of the company, be the custodian of company assets and ensure good corporate governance. This through forecasting, accurate data analysis, financial reporting, risk assessments and advising senior management on strategies to maximise profits, securing long-term success for the company.

Objectives:
  • Month-end closure and monthly accounting, including the processing and analysis of accounting entries
  • Compilation of detailed monthly forecasts
  • Compilation of detailed annual budgets
  • Financial analysis and reporting to facilitate the review of the performance of the various business units including the variance analysis of actuals and forecast vs budget as well as ad hoc requests from senior management
  • Balance sheet reconciliations for all the balance sheet general ledger accounts including review of necessary support and ensuring reconciling items are resolved
  • Reviewing of working capital to ensure optimal working capital positions for the company
  • Overseeing external audits
  • Manage the Financial and Accounting Team

Required skills and qualifications:
  • Bcom Accounting Degree or an equivalent
  • 6+ Years Accounting/Financial Management experience
  • Demonstrated financial leadership experience in a related environment, managing people, processes, and budgets to achieve corporate and divisional objectives
  • Demonstrated experience with and understanding of the deliverables of a financial function
  • Demonstrated strategic planning experience
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of the IT industry environment and business needs, combined with a strong understanding of business process
  • Demonstrated experience managing a team
